WORK For thirty years I have been working as a studio potter. My workshop is situated in Lauttasaari in Helsinki, where you can buy my ceramics. You can also find my ceramics in some arts and craft shops (see sale). For a long time I was told that my ceramics had a Japanese style without that beeing my purpose. A few years ago, after an exhibition in Norway and a visit to Japan, I started intentionally making items for Japanese food in a Finnish style. Japanese aesthetics attract me. Japanese ceramic has long traditions and is highly valued in the Japanese culture. In Finland I have made tea-ceremony items for Urasenke, the Association of Japanese tea ceremony in Finland. I have also made dishes for the Japanese restaurant Kabuki in Helsinki.
During the Culture Year of Helsinki 2000, I joined the project The greenhouse in the center of Helsinki. For the garden I built birdbaths of clay and the café used my ceramic ware. I have made sets for both companies and private persons.
